Hades is a book by Alexandra Adornetto and is the second in the series, Halo. In this book, the angel Bethany Church has been captured by Jake Thorn and is taken into Hades. Yes, Jake, who was supposedly killed in the first book, Halo. During one night of stupidity that could have been stopped by herself, Bethany is taken into captivity by Jake. There are two major problems that Bethany is going through in Hades: how will she protect her friends and family if she is stuck in Hades, especially as Jake begins to take a [bad] interest in them? Also, how will she escape?
This is a great book to read. You need to have read the first book, Halo, to understand everything that is going on, though. I really admired Bethany's determination to escape Hades and save those outside of her reach, somehow. I think this is appropriate for anyone 12 and older, and who doesn't mind vivid detail and unpleasant environments. I know that I certainly enjoyed it!
